I recently bought a double brick house built in the 60s. The house came with horrible steel windows.

Are steel windows hard to remove?

I want to replace them with wooden windows. How much are windows generally and where is the best place to find out about costs online?

Steel windows are very easy to remove compared to  old  timber.

I purchased some windows cedar out of the Sunny Coast and shipped all the way to Cairns for 2/3rds  the price as what  I could have purchased them in Townsville or Cairns …totally crazy.
If I can think of the name I'll let ya know.

If you want alloy windows you can pick them up cheap but timber is another issue.
