I'm buying a PPOR as a first homebuyer in Queensland. Does anyone know if it is possible to delay stamp duty until after the 1st of september when the stamp duty exemption for first home buyers will be raised from $320K to $500K? My settlement date is the 27th June (ie Would be trying to extend  it a little over 2 months).

I've read on another thread that in victoria you can delay by stamp duty by 3 months. Would this apply in Queensland, or is the relevant date for stamp duty purposes taken as settlement date?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Will stamp duty cannot be delayed in Qld.

it is payable 30 days after the contract becomes unconditional subject to this date being prior to the settlement date.
