    Hi all,

Purchased a block of land and will be starting construction on it as soon as I get everything in order. Thing is, this is my first time building and actually my first foray into Real Estate.

Does anyone know of where I can find information in regards to building like all the planning and organising that has to go into it before hand and how to organise and monitor whilst building and then after it? I'm talking about small stuff also like having a cheque account to pay for bills and how to organise claiming depreciation, etc.

This will be a learning experience and I am building it with my Dad who has done this many times before so I know I can get the information off him. I just want to look into it for myself to see if there's a step by step plan on building new homes incase I can add anything in, etc.

    Thanks

Do the short owner builders course at TAFE (a couple of days) gives you a background in what is needed to project manage construction & trades works. How do you intend going about the work – owner builder or project home? Project home builders specialise in standard design on the block, getting approvals and getting it built – probably the easiest way to go for first timer.
