Looking to start investing – need to find work ( oil and gas industry )

Hi, my name's Matt and I'm looking to start investing I've bought some shares and want to get into property the trouble is I don't have a job at the moment. I've recently finished a ten week course in Process Plant Operations and I'm going to do my HUET course in a few days. I have a few other tickets as well. I live in Perth WA. If anyone could help me get into the Oil and Gas sector or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. Thankyou
