I am in Victoria and seem to get conflicting views on the amount of stamp duty payable. One thought is that after the contruction has commenced, you pay the stamp duty on the full purchase price. I am looking to buy off the plan but contruction has commenced a few months ago, they are probably 10% completed.

Also if duty is only payable on the completed part, who determines the amount of stamp duty payable if its only partially conpleted?

Hi there, if the Builders have started construction and once the property is completed, the property may come under an established property. Also by saying that, the property must have remained sale free no matter what. That's my understanding, you must research for your answer either from an Investor or Real Estate. I hope this will help abit?
