Hello and thanks to all those who offer advice.

I am looking at a unit which is 1 of 4 in a block. The unit is not joined to another unit and has a common driveway and guest parking area.

All 4 units have been owned by one person hence there has never been a body corp. Now all the units are for sale seperatly and each buyer has to look after there own place as far as public liability goes.

So can we buy public liability for 1 unit?

Does this cover us if no other owner has insurance and someone hurts them self on the public areas?

Public liability comes with your standard home and contents insurance. If it is an IP you can get it just for your unit. The common areas however need to have a body corporate, and they need to take out the appropriate insurances.
