How to stop my offer being used to leverage price

Hello all,

I am currently in negotiations for a property and about to submit a written offer. It was mentioned that my offer once submitted may be used to check with other interested parties as to whether they would be prepared to offer more before being accepted.

I have a few ideas on what to do to limit this behaviour but am sure that others would have encountered this behaviour , so it would be worth some discussion as to ways to reduce or eliminate this type of behaviour.

Any ideas?
