Did anybody recieve damage in the ice storms of buffalo on (US) thurs night?
I just heard that a full 70% of Erie county is still without electricity and phones and it will be another week before services will be restored.
Many trees are on top of houses aswell
Of course with heaters turned off pipes may freeze causing expensive repairs as the cold weather is coming on fast..

    Hi world changer

i saw a story on the news about the BIG FREEZE , very early this year. Normally snow doesn’t fall till mid Nov. The news stated that trees haven’t even lost their leaves and when the snow came the weight became to unbearable for many branches. I have also received an email from my property manager advising me of the event and they will be taking care of any arising issues.
The weathers doing funny things !!

    regards westan

    Hello Guys hope yr well!

Martin just a side issue you mentioned you would check yr insurance after the storms,

I just discovered last week that The Erie and Niagara insurance
company that alot of investors are using in Buffalo doesnt cover the property if it becomes vacant.
This was a huge concern for me as being OS and the quality some of the tenants and property management in there ,sometimes you dont find out yr property is vacant for weeks later.

There for if yr property gets vandalised in this time you dont get a cent. Yes pretty wild hey?!!! I thought this was why you have insurance, – for peace of mind yr property is safe no matter what may happen.

I have, of course ,since changed companys.

Hope you guys didnt get any damage
    all the best

    Hi Martin and Worldchanger

how diod you guys go ?

i had one property which is fine but another property the power was cut and it cost $275 to get fixed. But there was a ton of trees down also and that cost about $500 to remove. Lisa (property manager)send photos through today).

I was talking with Dan about a week ago (worldchanger and Martin know Dan , he lives in Buffalo) and he said a lot of his own properties had their power cut about 8 of the 20 he owns. He said there is a tremendous amount of tree damage around the City and it will take months to clean up.

How did you guys go /
