Just a quick question, is there a minimum size of land that you can have to subdivide? ie area/width of block. Is there a rule of thumb guide (for say Sydney/NSW) or is this someting that has to be checked with each relvant local council?
    Cheers,

Each council will have their own rules on density etc so best to check with them. One thing I do to get an idea is that If I drive up a street and a few of the houses have been subdivied already it is a fair indication that the blocks in that area are big enough to develop

    Hi all

We have R-codes (residential building codes WA) in WA, which sets out all the info re this.

Do the other states have these? or similiar?

put “building codes nsw” in search and see what comes up.

Thanks for that tip cbellesini, it make sense and lets you know whether it is worth investigating further.
