    Hi guys,

We just received a bill from our property manager to replace a broken window that our ‘very clean’ tenant smashed by putting her knee through it whilst re-hanging the curtains in our IP.

My question is, who should be paying for the window, us or the tenant?

The excess for an insurance claim is about twice as much as the windows cost, and we have just approved that the rent stay at $360/fortnight for the next 12 months lease because she has looked after the place so well and has already been there for 12 months previously.

Rock the boat or just foot the billourselves?

    Thanks…..[blink]

    Gday Nathan,

If it were me i would just pay for the window, they sound like good tenants, and tenants are just as important as the property, although if i was in there position and i broke the window i would feel obligated to pay if i was at fault!![suave3]

I’d sent the bill back to the tenant, they caused the breakage.
