Hi everyone,
I have an interest in Qld for long term buy and hold. Does anyone know where i can find detailed information about all suburbs in Qld or anywhere in the country for that matter on growth history, infrastructure, expected infrastructure etc.
You know all the elements that influence whether to buy in an area or not. Being from Perth i want to know all the information possible before thinking about going into a foreign suburb or state.
The info that websites like http://www.Domain.com.au provide is not enough to make a decent decision to bother going over to look. I want to target suburbs but if i believe i see a decent deal going i want to be able to find as much info on the suburb as quickly as possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Have you decided on anywhere specific in QLD or looking at the state as a whole?
What type of property are you looking for, something to reno, flip,wrap, Buy and Hold..Units, Houses, townhouses, aprtments areyou looking for CF, CG etc?

PRDnationwide has a free research tool for demographics and past growth history that is quite useful. Unfortunately the data is for 2003/2004 so it’s not very up to date. Gives you an idea of the suburbs though. Go to http://www.prd.com.au/research/(gkkt5k55g0zgcxes2nrarhuu)/Default.aspx.There is also a free postcode profile from “Property Value” at http://www.propertyvalue.com.au/postcode_profile.php which includes demographic data.

Thankyou to all who have provided me information.
Once you have a feel for the areas from the wonderful resources suggested above, dont be shy about aproaching realestates in the areas of interest. As well as touching base with people you may have to do business with shortly, you also get agents happy to let you know oabout those things not reported yet, like a new Maccas or Aldi going in or a new community centre or uni campus.
Never be afraid to ask questions, as after all, the only silly question is the one you DONT ask!!!
