I have been looking at san Remo Phillip island. Houses around $150k. Ocean View land … sweeping views of Cape Woolami for under $150K only an hour from Melbourne. Iooking to build a holday rental for the Grand Prix etc and use it occassionally ourselves. If the land was West Coast of Melb or Mornington Peninsula it would be $500K plus. Plenty of people in town commute to SE subs for work? Why so cheap down there?

I know the area well, most people opt for land on Phillip Island, but the prices are certainly booming there.

I also heard a rumour that a group were considering building a boutique Casino at San Remo. Crown Casino had a monopoly for the only licensed Casino in Victoria for ten years. That has since elapsed, so applications for licensed Casino’s can be considered by the government now.

I made my first 100% profit on a little cottage not far from there a few years ago. Lovely place.
