    Hi there,

I am looking to invest in Traralgon.. I’m after some local knowledge as to where the better areas of Traralgon I’m to look into? I’m from Sydney and honestly wouldn’t have a clue.. I am planning a visit down there but would like to get my homework done before hand.. I have spoken to some local real estate agents, but would like some more feedback.

If anyone could shed any light on the area, it would be greatly appreciated [biggrin]

With the property cycle now at its peak areas such as this may be higher than they are worth. Unless you can achieve huge returns, why bother. You are better off sticking to main cities where you ill still get capital growth. If you want cashflow you are better off purchasing in New Zealand where you may achieve a balance of cashflow and capital growth.

    Hi Clarebear

Rather than post a long post on Traralgon, please PM me with your telephone number or I can give you mine. Please PM me in any case if you’re interested in discussing investing in Traralgon.

I used to live in Traralgon and recently served stints there as a Fire Brigade Officer and more recently as the Officer-in-Charge of the Fire Station, so my local knowledge is quite sound.

Personally, I wouldn’t invest there at the moment because of the market conditions but we can discuss this and your strategies when we talk.

    All the best…Giraffe

I have been and will continue to invest in Traralgon as the basic fundumentals of property success are there, in my opinion.
These include strong population growth, good rental demand, v. high average incomes, excellent and improving infrustructure, proximity to Melbourne (1Hr. 40min easy drive), low entry price, huge potential multi billion dollar power projects looming etc.
Quite frankly, I’m yet to see a downside.
I can’t think of any other location with these attributes. And it’s in AUSTRALIA.
If you go down there, talk to estate agents/PMs as to which type of property suits and do your homework.

PS. I am not a seller, agent, nor do/will I have any financial interest in your dealings.

    Good luck.

You cannot afford to take a black and white approach to investing. It is a matter of looking at where the market isd moving and invest there. If you invest in ther wrong area it is a bit like putting the money in the back and thebank charges you
