I have a client who is looking to offload a block of 4 x 2 bedroom units in Benalla.
The valuation I commission came in at $90,000 per unit and I have offered him a cash deal at $60,000 per unit which he has accepted.
The rental agent has been managing the units for over 20 years and tells me the demand is very good.
As I have never been to Benalla I would appreciate any views from the locals on the forum.
Also if anyone can recommend a good Victorian Solicitor then i would welcome the recommendation.
I have used the same lawyer in Brisbane for 11 years but never bought outside sunny Qld.

Benalla has its fair share of low income population, of which some can be a bit rough. Seems like a reasonable buy without knowing/seeing the properties. I suggest they would be cash+.
For a Lawyer try Jeff Francis on 03 5721 8300 if you hav’nt found someone yet. He is from Wangaratta but does a fair slice of Benalla’s legal business – not much to choose from in Benalla I believe.

Benalla is a nice country town. I grew up the road from there Wangaratta, but now Sydney.
It is getting more tourist to the location, but is still growing / developing, slow but not going backwards.
Good purchase there
Maybe nextime you get down there time it with the ” Rose & Garden Festivale”.
They have a couple of big draw cards like this, it is also not too far from Winton Raceway, which has extreme limited accommodation for car racing.
