In WA the legal requirement for working directors (owners of IP’s) to have workers compensation insurance was repealed on 29th SEPTEMBER 2005, I believe this has been verified by REIWA and The Insurance Council.

Although Workers Comp is now NOT compulsory it is still recommended by the Insurance Council to protect against potential claims by tradesmen employed in the course of renting out an IP.

Indications are that Terri SCHEER are automatically covering this in L.L.I but will be deleting cover from all building policies and that the renewal premiums will increase by approx $15 p/a.

AON are not including the cover automatically but will offer it as a component of their Rental Protection Plus policy for approx $60..

As for others I’m not sure?
