    Hi all

Could someone please help – I have downloaded Google Earth but I get dialogue boxes stating in short:
    1. Desktop resolution is set to smaller than 1024 x 768 – need at least 1024 x 768. How do I reset resolution.

    2. Error – unable to connect to Google Earth server to activate your account.

I have only downloaded the free version to see if it could be of any use in looking at properties of interest.

Would appreciate any ideas to enable me to use this site

    Cheers

    hi Sitting on the Fence
I will get one of my kids to email you with how to do it as they set mine up for me.
its no good for looking at properties as their not enough detail I have pins on mine to show my developments and were in relation to each other they are and to plan a trip it is very good for that put but not much use except as a gimic.
the detail is good for sydney but a ubd gives you more detail then it.
A bit of fun yes everyone comes round for a few beers and asked well what do you do and I go onto google earth and shown em but thats about it.

    here to help

    Sitting on the Fence

I believe it can not be used with the old dial up only with ADSL or Broadband

Photo’s are old also. The pics of my house still have the tennis court up the street. It was redeveloped about 18 mths ago.

    Hi

To change your screen resolution, right click on the desktop and then select properties. A window will open, select the Settings tab and you will see a slider that may allow you to change your screen resolution, (depends on your monitor). Slide it to the right until you see the resolution reach the required size and then click ok. You may see a window asking to confirm the new setting, if everything looks ok go ahead. If it all looks messed up just wait and the screen will automattically go back to the way you had it.

The images in Google earth are no more than 3 years old, and I have used it to check out properties in the area I live in, it works quite well, but the images are not spectacular. In some areas you can see fences and resonable detail right down to the cars on the street.

You need to have a broard band connection to use google earth as the image data is very large.

    Hope this helps

    Phil

Just had to set the record straight

I believe it can not be used with the old dial up only with ADSL or Broadband

I have Google Earth working fine on Dial-up. And, yes, it’s the Free version,

    Benny
