    Good people,[cap]

I placed a post in the ‘help needed’ forum board asking advice about becoming a property developer. It was recommended to me (thanks) that some of my questions may be answered if i purchased the following ebook “Residential development made easy” by Colm Dillon.

As it costs $87, i just figured i’d run it past all of you to see if more of you have read it, and what you guys thought. Are there any other similar books you would recommend.

    Many thanks,

    Cabo Wabo

Sorry I haven’t read it, but I couldn’t find it either… could you please tell me where you are purchasing it from?

    Thanks!

That link will take you there. I’ve bought it, haven’t had chance to read much of it yet, but i think it has much promise.

Cabo Wabo, did you find it is relevant to single storey residential, or is it more for high rise?

    Julie,

Definately a beginners book. Its perfect for me.
In well writen laymans terms, he walks you through (broad strokes) all the steps and stages of building a single story 4 unit development.

The e’Book is OK. You always pick up something.

Feasibility has a few ommissions/events out of Sequence though.
    1. Selling Cost: Commission on Selling Price (say 2.5 to 3%) is calculated after you have assessed the potential Sale Price.

    2. No mention of GST & Input Tax Credit; This has a major impact on your feasibility now.

    Re: Books on property development,

I just read Ron Forlee’s “Intelligent guide to Australian Property Development”. Found it very informative and well worth the $30.

Believe he has a new one out re: a step by step guide to prop dev.

    Cheers

I would recommend reading “Australian Residential Property Development” by Ron Forlee (rrp $29.95)
Its a step by step guide for investors and those new to subdividing and has some great charts and checklists.

I’m actually reading this book at the moment, although i have not read the book mentioned in the original post – I’ve found this book to be good for someone like me (new to IP’s).
