For the past year I have had a mortgage for half share in a set of two flats……or so I thought.

I bought into these flats to help out my father who, after the property boom, found himself over the asset level to be eligible to receive his veterans pension.

Now these flats are to be sold. A contract has been settled. Only now we find out after a search has been made, that my name has never been added to the title! Now I dunno wot this bloody mortgage is that I have been topping up each month to pay the bank but it now seems I have no claim to the flats.

I had a broker and soliciter to attend to such details I thought. [angry2]

Where does this leave us legally? I am not concerned about my father ripping me off. I am more concerned that veteran affairs and tax dept will be severe with him as it appears he will get the entire proceeds.

do I need a new solicitor?
