    Hi All,

Thought this article would interest you:

When you retire, how much will the Government provide?

As the New Zealand population ages, there will be increased focus on the residential care subsidies payable by the Government for rest home or hospital care. There is still some confusion about the extent to which people are personally liable to meet the costs of residential care, and the asset limits and income limits which apply

Hi I’m an expat kiwi living in Oz. I was one of the very few people to vote for compulsory super contributions during the referrendum a few years back in NZ. Most NZers have no super plan at all, I was lucky enough to have an employee super plan when I was in NZ that i made contributions to. Here in australia the 9% that our employers contribute is no where near enough for our retirements (hence my interest in PI) but it puts us in a much better position than people working in NZ.
