A tsunami of tax driven investment, powered by the salivating prospect of carbon credit trading, is washing farmers out of the reliable rainfall areas of south west Victoria.

Great southern plantations, Midway P/L and others have bought up big time .

It is an interesting time for the farmers in the area(including me[borg])as they see their values rise substantially.

I settled on another dairy farm two months ago and if i believe the agents we have picked up a heap of equity

Can anybody explain more about carbon credit trading?

    Cheers Shawn

    Thanks g7, great link.

Farms that no one wanted 2 years ago at about 2.5K per acre are now selling at 4-5k thanks to the tree people
