If you intend to be a successful property investor then the first thing that you need to do is carry out extensive research into the area you wish to buy into. Many investors do little research, they either purchase property through a marketing company or ask a real estate agents advice. In reality you may get away with some of these things in a boom market but as markets tighten you must do the research so that you fully understand your purchase.

New Zealand has become a hot topic for investors for some time now, but how many people really understand the market. Many Australians are either purchasing off the plan property in Auckland or high cashflow in small country towns. I wonder how much thought has gone into the acquisitions.

I recently had the pleasure of reading The Guide to New Zealand Property Investing by Antony Anderson and Sigrid De Castella. The book as the title suggests is a full guide as to how Australians should invest in New Zealand. It covers topics such as tax structures, finance. Different types of property and locations throughout New Zealand. The history of the market, how to make an offer, property management, just to name a few. When I first started studying New Zealand I would have loved to have a resource such as this as it would have saved me a lot of time.

Whether you are already an investor in New Zealand or if your are thinking about it. Whether you wish to use a buyers advocate or do the research and buy the property yourself I strongly recommend that you read this book. It will give you a great grounding as to how to set up and acquire a property portfolio in New Zealand. Once a read the book I felt that it was of value to anyone wanting to invest in New Zealand.

This book will help you to understand what is involved with the exciting prospect of investing in New Zealand. However with an ever changing market it is important that you do your own extensive research before you spend your own money on purchasing a property.

The book is self published. There is a link on my web site which goes to there site where you can purchase the book. I do this because I believe it to be a good resource. I stress that I do not make one cent out of internet book sales.
