    The Panel – “A property investor’s guide to investing in business”
    This month CRIN is focusing on business – with a panel featuring three investors in different stages, and in different areas, of business investing.

    Whether you’ve ever considered investing in business or if you are already involved, this panel will provide you with insights into the experiences of others on similar paths.

    Even if you have no interest in business investing, the panel will still provide you with insights into the local property market from one of the owners of Allhomes.

    The three speakers on the panel are;

    Geoff Whitfield, one of the original founders of the Canberra Investor’s Group. Geoff is an experienced property investor who late last year made the leap from a lifetime of employment to being the owner of one of the largest Subway franchises in Australia. Geoff will be sharing a number of his experiences in making the transition from worker to owner and in securing and operating a successful franchise.

    Peter Blackshaw, owner of the well-known Canberra real estate chain, Peter Blackshaw Real Estate. Peter is also a major and active investor in http://www.allhomes.com.au, the ACT’s leading real estate website. Peter is highly regarded across Canberra for his property industry expertise and will be providing insights into how to successfully build businesses in the property and technology sectors.

    Mark Bacon, an experienced business developer and coach. Mark has owned and operated businesses since he was eight years old and also worked on the ‘dark side’ in Audit, debt collection and bankruptcies. His recent experience includes ownership and development of retail, services, IT and property sector businesses. He will provide a strategic view on how to successfully enter and thrive in business.

    Following brief presentations from each speaker there will be a Q&A session to answer all your questions about investing in businesses.

    In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.
