Lately I’ve been getting blank sms messages one after the other. As soon as I press the erase button on my mobile phone I get a ‘beep’ to tell me that ‘another sms has arrived!’ There is never any message on the screen and I often get up to 20 or more at a time. The number that comes up by the way is 61400646647. Does anyone know how to track it down to an individual? I assume it’s coming from o/s with the ’61’ prefix?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Gatsby!

The 61 means it is an Aussie number. Just ring it and check it out. It could be one of those ‘Hot Sex’ SMS services you subscribe to and forgot to cancel!!! :)

    Hi Rob,
Thanks for the reply. I think it is more to do with a work dilemna at the moment and the fact you’ve jokingly mentioned a ‘sex sms’ makes me think who I know it could be. I’m now wondering if the fact the no. is present but no message is left is actually there for a reason (ie. to take the bait and ring the number?).
    Cheers mate,
    Gatsby.

If you let the Police know, they will call the number for you or at least log it for future protection if you know what I mean.

    Hi Gatsby,
I tried the number but it just says the number cannot be connected. I tried the number as it was on the screen, any other thoughts?

    The mobile number is 0400 646 647.

You need to replace the 61 with a 0 in Aus.
