    Hi all.
    Here are the details of our first investment, please feel free to voice your opinion/suggestions/thoughts/figures.
    Not sure if this is the right forum for this post but oh well.

    Unit 44/21 Cavenagh st Darwin. studio appartment
    1 br 2nd floor/sea views
    1 Bath fully furnished
    close to everything, very central
    tennanted at 170/wk
    body corp 1490/annum
    rates 628/annum purchase price $90,000
    using house for equity, borrowing full amnt.

    Yes numbers look good, Darwin should also have good long term CG prospects.

    What about the size of the unit. I wouldn’t get anything under 40sq m, 50+ would be preferable.

    Yes i think i am happy, even though it will be slightly neg geared for at least the first year.
    It is only just under 40 m2.
