    Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me what the go is with NSW rates!?

I come from Canberra, but have been living in NSW for the last year or so and I can not believe the Rates here!!

Per quarter I paid $146 for living in the ACT. In Orange, NSW, I pay $896 per quarter!!!!!

    What’s the go!! Grrrr….

How are people supposed to survive when bills that high come in!!??

    Hi,

Welcome to ‘Bob Carr sville’ the man is a lost cause !!!!! Anything to do with property in NSW is open for huge increases or ‘New” taxes to draw every last dollar out of people !!

Welcome to the highest taxed (including all Council charges) state in Australia !!

Does $896 per quarter or almost $3600 per year not sound inaccurate though!?

It can’t seriously be that much.

    ACT – $584 per year
Orange, NSW – $3,600 per year!

It does not make sense! It’s not fair, how can they get away with this!?? Expecially when there are pot-holed roads, <edited>ty intersections and the like around here!!???

I think I want to move back to Canberra.

    What an utter joke!

Rates are a local council matter. Air your complaint when you vote and the problem may be rectified. I have properties in NSW and the rates are a lot cheaper than yours. Maybe it has something to do with the size of your property or a remoteness issue. Maybe it is the drought. Call the Council and ask them.
