I’ve got a small storage unit that I’m wanting to sell. In fact it is so small that any legal fees or sales commission would represent a fair chunk of the value!
Any suggestions on how / where to sell it?
Real estate agents are reluctant to take it on (much to their credit) because their cut of the sale would be very high in comparison to the price.
BTW: It was the first CF+ property I bought (and currently the only one, the others are neutral or close enough to).MyydralMember@myydralJoin Date: 2003Post Count: 259
If it’s cashflow positive – why sell it? ( probably going to hear that alot )

why not just put an add in the local paper and sell it privately instead of hiring an agent
I’m selling because I can get better returns elsewhere [biggrin]
Pretty much the same reason anyone does any investment activity.
I don’t think this is a selling forum so I’m actually just asking about web sites or papers that people have used and found effective etc…
I’ve put an ad in http://www.DIYSell.com.au http://www.diysell.com.au/pfs_profile.asp?PropID=P13400 (cost $100) but if there are free forums that take listings I’d be much apreciative.
I’ve also put it on eBay [biggrin]
Anyone had success selling real estate on eBay?
Update on what I’ve found effective so far:
Well I put a post on DIYSell.com and that got a couple of enquiries but the biggest generator of interest has been:
I’ve gotten about 6 requests for more info with at least 2 of them waiting for my vendors statement. I love eBay (this is not an endorsement for any particular use of the product). Anyway, listing on eBay cost only a few dollars and got at least some results. When I sell I update with what method got the sale. This could be helpful for others looking to sell such items (like student accomodation?)
