    Hope you can help with this one. I have put down a deposit on a house and settle in a couple of months. Is it my responsibility to insure the house right now. I thought it would be my responsibility after I settle, ie from settlement date.

    Someone said get it insured now, but I hae 2 and half nmonths yet before I own it.

    Hope you can help

    Yes, you should insure after exchange of contracts.

    sorry new at this. I have signed the contract and put down a deposit. Are you saying to insure the house now and not wait for the settlement in a few months??
