Could anyone suggest some effective way of doing research?

Sites such as residex and homepriceguide usually has a high price tag to give some post code searches.

I use the monthly API to give me some idea about the area, and http://www.realestate.com.au. Somehow it just doesn’t give me a good feel of the area I’m trying to research on.

Could anyone suggest some good source to use for researching properties? If the price justify I’m willing to pay for some sites that allows you do frequent searches.

The Aust. Bureau of Statistics is generally pretty good. You can get a suburb profile online for $10 that’s quite comprehensive. I think their site is at abs.gov.au

    Hope this helps!
