Yes, you should be able to.

If they say no again, just write a letter saying you are refinancing and request a payout figure. They will get them to change their minds most of the time.

    Thanks everyone,

Think I’ll go through a broker next time as most of you have suggested.

Spoke to an independant valuer today who advised that we should ask tha ANZ if they will accept an independant valuation before we fork out the money for one.

Spoke to my ANZ branch who said that they would not accept an independant and would want to do a valuation themselves, bur still would not do one until we began paying some money off the loan.

They did however say that if we had plans from a builder of what we wanted to do to the property, that they could then go ahead a give another valuation.

I suppose I could tell them I wanted to sell the property as well……that way they would have to give me another valuation right??[eh]

Definately going through a broker next time. [hmm]

Brokers can order there valuations directly for ANZ (from an approved list). If the client isn’t happy, another can be order through a different valuer from that list (at clients expense).

Ambo, try interest free loans. It might spare you some headaches.

Look around the finance section. There have been hundreds of posts about them in the last few weeks.
