Reading the Residex tables in the back of Australian Property Investor, I was wondering what it is meant by rent yeilds. It is presented as a percentage for last year and a percentage for last 10 years. What is meant by this figure?

annual rental income / purchase price * 100

So for a $100k property renting at $100/week ($5200/year) the yield is 5.2%
