Your councils are increasingly becoming red tape driven which is having an affect on property investing. Staff are in conflict with managment and are also slowing down approvals in a “no risk” atmosphere. Eg in WA northern suburbs area a new city is well underway but local council does not have the staffing processes and resources to deal with planning applications within the 60 days alotted by legislation, often taking over 6 months to approve with extensive misinformation being issued along the way leading to further delays from redesign & therefore costs. The impact is driving investors & developers out of the area and making investment in property difficult[angry2] This situation is not dissimilar to how the UK operates which is very limiting to all associated with property. So beware when buying land you could be wating longer than you think before it can be developed.

They say Randwick Council is pretty good when money is involved… well this is what ICAC decided a while back!
