This was a post expected, after my response to the last Uni post….
My property is a huge issue for me, with bad class of students, messy and not paying rent and an underachiever for an agent telling me that the market is flooded and thats about as much as I can expect – BW Backhouse. Anyone got a great property manager that can help me with a student rental in Bentley WA near Curtin Uni?
Pls help, Ive done a search on this site for previous recommendations, and couldnnt find any.

Have you tried to speak to the student housing office at Curtin Uni?I do know someone working over that way as a PM, i’ll have to chase up..

I have used Raine & Horne in Burswood (9355 0822) and Laurie Kelly RE in Belmont (9277 8826) to manage our Victoria Park property and International students.
Both have done a serviceable job but………they are a little removed for the immediate Bentley area.

Friend works For Laurie Kelly, However, i believe some of the PM’s have a ‘lot’ of properties for each PM.

Count The Currency With This Online Positive Cashflow CalculatorYou have my complete sympathy and empathy.. see note in your previous reply re uni students – Not in your state but its the same no matter where i guess and my opinion of the REagents is on par with yours – saw some suggestions in a couple of forums about giving the “good agent” a gift by way of thankyou for doing a good job and i’ve decided if were to ever find one of them “good job” agents I might just do that..
Its good that you can keep a sense of humour and by the by, do make sure you get insurance because i didn’t first time round with my bunch of dropkicks and it cost me heeeeaps. But you live and learn,, I did actually resort to the knee cap thing in the end – not quite literally but nearly… very very fustrating and as for the market is flooded so you just get the dropkicks what a great theory that is..
Anyways best of luck and please let us know how you go…My 21 yo son has been renting for the past four years until purchasing his own home recently. His last rental was managed by Raine & Horne Burswood who have given both him and the property owner appalling service. Four different agents and the only one that inspected was Porter Matthews Victoria Park 9362 4666 which is within range for a Bentley property. If I had a property with a 21 yo in it I’d sure want it inspected.
If I knew then what I know now……….you know how it goes

Full sympathy regarding your situation.
And these guys advertise themselves as specialists in the area of student rental.
Last write up was in the local Sunday Times last sunday 15 Aug.promoting their services and expertise in the local area.We had some overseas students in a rental built last year.
They lasted all of 3 weeks. Seems they came complete with a stalker ( prev boyfriend) who proceeded to break in, terrorise them, etc.
The grief and headache for the extra rent was just not worth it.
Best thing that happened was that they left.KP

Tis interesting your sons experience with R & H (Burswood) was very different to mine. Makes you wonder how can that be? Property investiong would be so much easier if we all had the same recommendations for ‘services’.

True Derek. I won’t go into details here but his treatment was shocking and the owners got a raw deal too. E.mail privately if you want to know more.

have had nothing but trouble with raine and horne (burswood)….i had to tell them that my tenents did a runner!!! the owner has got a great list of “excuses” , everything but “my dog ate it”![confused2][
