    G’day,

If I go out and buy a load of tools to do a repair on a rental, (eg, I recently bought a grinder to fix up a gate), can I claim these tools agaisnt the repair aswell as the cost of the materials?

    cheers

I am no accountant, but I think you would have to apportion the usage of the tools between income generating activities and private use.
