    Hi Guys,

I’ve just purchased a rental property and am waiting for settlement to go through.

However, I’m in the process of planning renovations for the property and need access to the floor plans. I’ve asked the agent for a copy of the floor plans though the previous owners don’t have them.

Do you know any way of getting access to a property’s floor plan? Eg, through the council or something?

I live in Perth, so if there’s any Perth people out there that have had the same problem it would be great to hear from you:)

    Cheers

    Wayne

Wayne, contact the local Council. It doesn’t cost much – we’ve paid between $10 and $50 for copies of plans from different Councils. If you intend using a Quantity Surveyor, he will also need the plans when working out a depreciation schedule.
