    SIS,

$69 still expensive considering you will get nothing out of it except marketing for the big seminar.

I will go to the 3.5 hours one if it is for free.

    Kind regards

I went to his 3.5 hour seminar in Brisbane either 2 or three years ago. It was probably worth the $60 or whatever it cost. The mega thousand dollar ones though I would be wary of unless you could find somebody else who has attended and can vouch for the value.

Burley is a wrap guy. You going to get into wrapping?

Here’s a URL people might find interesting:

What an interesting resource – thanks Kay.

I’m going to see John Burley. I figure there isn’t much else to do on a Monday night & I’m getting tired of Friends repeats!

    Jeez!!

    5 out 5 for 5 reviews!

In my opinion his courses and materials are excellent.
I know quite a few wrappers and many people who have been to his courses and retired (okay, I know 4 personally and know of about 7-8 more, one of them being Steve McKnight who also gave a Testimonial to his Aussie book ‘Money Secrets of the Rich’ which is an excellent book (and pretty good review too Steve!!)).

    Heartily Recommended by me.

Also I’ll just do a mini ad – I know a mate of Mr John Burley is giving a talk for one whole day about creating layers of income. Cost is $115 and dinner afterwards (there will be about 10 wrappers their, as well as a few other people – even from this forum too!).

    Rgds.

I did my John Burley thing in the form of a conference call via PowWow (They do these monthly with various speakers)a few days ago. Cost $35 and didn’t have to leave home.

A 1 hour call can only cover so much and most we already know.

    To summarise

Low intrest rates, inflation plus good economy, tax breaks equals the real estate hi’s we’ve had

Many have been speculating not investing of late

These are his level 3 investors ( the can’t be done people who see everyone else is doing it so I will jump on the band waggon types)

They are likely to panick and sell when the going gets tough

This is where the level 4+ investors (who have there act together and are following a pro. plan)can do really well

    Houses are better than units

Non pro’s buy for tax benifits

    Always go for cashflow+

City units 8 – 10 yrs to hi again

    Cheers

    Geoff

    Thanks Phoenix! [biggrin]

Looks like Burley would consider me a loser in a few respects… I buy units, and I invest for tax breaks. As I’ve said- give me a 15k tax return, rather than a $10 week profit anyday :)

It’s a pity all these gurus have to do this “think like me or you are a speculator and not an investor” stuff… I don’t understand why they have to be so divisive. I find that stuff so lame. [hmm]

    Kay,

The call prompted me to start reading Money Secrets of the Rich which I bought ages ago
(I have about 20 unreads at the moment)

The first chapter is on the 7 investor levels

I’m sure he sees the world from the top level (capitalist)

The fourth level is really important it’s about being in control of money habbits and chanelling as much spare cash into investments as possible

I dont know you personally but from what I’ve read here I have an inkling thats what you are doing

    If so well done
Its all about what we are comfortable with in the end

    Cheers

    Why?

Tax refunds imply overall losses. I’d have thought making a profit would have to be better than reducing a loss, ignoring possible CG aspects.
