    Hi
Just a bit of information – we have just found a Landlord insurance by EBM insurance called Rentcover and Rentcover Plus that seem very good and very reasonable the following link gives details and premiums for different states.
    http://www.rentcover.com.au
Anyone with a bit of knowledge want to check it out and see if it is ok or any suggestions for other insurers?

Yep, we use it for some of our properties and we use CommInsure for others. Depends on price at the time and condidiotns of course eg. CommInsure will still give us Rent Loss insurance on a property we manage ourselves whereas RentCover you must have a managing agent. However, RentCover would cover for Rent Loss in a house that has an asbetos roof whereas CommInsure wouldn’t. (Not sure how an Asbetos roof affects the probability of Loss of Rent, but that’s their criteria).

    G’Day Cobra,
I’ve just had a claim for non payment of rent to CGU. The premium is about the same, the maximum payout is $3000 with an excess of $500. This does not cover cleanup, rubbish disposal, gardening unmalicious damage & carpetcleaning costs altho this can be taken out of the bond first before it impacts on the $3000. Further comparisons look good enough for investigation
    Regards Summo
