Have been looking for IP and/or a home in mainly
the eastern suburbs of Melb, ie blackburn,
box hill, mitcham, burwood, balwyn areas.
Like to know what others think about those either
    as investor or owner.

Like the infrastructure & ammenity of box hill
but not sure about growth potential and rental
market. Balywn is ideal for school but I got priced out years ago. [confused2]

    TIA

    Hi McWong,

These areas, as with most Melbourne metropolitan areas are all experiencing slight price reductions, and I would imagine this to continue well into the end of the year.

Check out websites such as http://www.realestate.com.au and http://www.property.com.au, whereby you can look at the suburb snapshots to see how these (and other areas) are faring.

    BTW…I am in Melbourne too.

    Hi McWong,

I tend to disagree – while Monopoly might be right that they are reducing in price towards the end of this year – I think they will sky rocket in value wihin the next 2-3 years especially because of the $356M Eastern Freeway extension they are building just after Balwys towards Donvale.

    Kind regards,
    George.
