I used a terrific designer. If you like my site email me for her email address.

    Hosting is cheap too.

    Try http://www.quadrahosting.com.au

The owner is a stalwart on investment property chat channels :)

They have a do-it-yourself website tool which is very easy to use. Can handle domain registration as well at rock bottom prices.

    BTW – they’re cheap too :)

    Hi guys

Complete novice at all things websites etc.

when you say ‘cheap’, can you give example pricing.

I’ve recently been offered a deal of $25-$30 per month ($150 only in first year), with DIY webdesigning available amongst other things. Is this reasonable?

    Cheers

    Melbear,

It’s not too bad – not the cheapest but certainly not too expensive.

More important than cheap is reliable. You don’t want the site off-air half the time!

I set up my own website for a business over three years ago. I pay about NZD$140 per year all up. They give you tools to design your own website, but they are quite basic. Later, once I learnt the ropes I wrote my own stuff and uploaded it using CuteFTP.

The hard part was not so much the design and getting the site up and running, but getting it out there on the big search engines where it will be seen.
