Hello, I am endeavouring to venture out into the free world of financial freedom and have been doing some decent study of late. One thing I am struggling to find on the net is info on how Trusts and Companies work. I mean the whole lot from how to set them up, how to work them and the whole reason for having them in the first place. Can anyone send me to the right place.

    Thankyou
    Dean

ASIC for companies on 1300 555 600, as for trusts, maybe your local solicitor, not to sure about trusts as I have never dealt with them.

A company will cost you $800 to register plus a few minor expences, you just download and print a form 201 from the ASIC website (www.asic.gov.au) and then go from there.

Remember, each calender year after registration you must do a compay review which costs $200. and also you must notify of any changes that happen in the company.

No idea about trusts but I seem to think that they are a lot simpler.

    tridean..

Do a ‘search’ on this forum for TRUST’s, there’s a wealth of info that’s been covered many, many, times..

Also look at Steve’s book Wealth Guardian, and a book called Trust Magic, reportedly 2 of the best..

    PS- Welcome to the forum

Thankyou guys, and thankyou for the welcome Redwing.

I certainly have found a lot of info regarding trust etc. on this forum, and it is obvious that I will have to buy a couple of books. I ordered Family Trusts by Nick Renton as that was all I could find up until now.

I would love to get hold of some games like Cashflow e-game etc, but it is a little tough explaining to management(wife) that it is a good investment, as it is my goal to invest in a broad range of ways, and retire young(ish). Do you know of any freebies going around,
    Cheers

No .au on this one. Much recommend this manual, and also Dale’s other manual – Tax Battles.
