Does this cover all insurance on the house , or just damage done by tenant? Would i need house old insurance on top of it? Does it cover rent if empty? Where should i go to get it?

    Hi Bear,
I think all policies differ, as most insurances do, in what is included and not included. Go over your policy carefully.
My last property had building insurance and landlord insurance (For malicious damage and loss of rent for a few weeks)
It may pay to contact a good insurance broker.
I take it this is in Tassie and there is no property manager? (They usually arrange the insurance for you)
    Cheers,
    Sue [:)]

CGU do a combined building insurance and landlord’s insurance.

Barclay MIS seems to offer the best stand-alone Landlord’s Insurance, I just put my latest IP with them.

Terri Scheers (AON) are hard to get compensation out of for anything except rent default, and even then you wait 6 months.
