    elves,

Yeah, I wonder how aged pensioners could afford $150 a week too. And if the coy is going to subsidise them for 25 years… well, you’d have to hope the coy would be around that long… I wonder what it would be like for them- living in parkes… how many facilities for ages people would there be there? And i wonder how the coy finds them! Advertises in the local pensioner mags?? It all seems a bit sad to me.

    Pisces- yes, it’s a record [:I]

Hate to disappoint guys, but Guru’s post asking where you live is at 2458 at this moment!!

But I would say this would have to be a record posting for actual investment info [:)]

    Cheers

    >> I wonder what it would be like for them- living in Parkes… how many facilities for <<

Actually Parkes is quite a nice place. I bought a couple of properties there in 1986.

In most towns the young people have left for the big city. I was actually quite amazed to see how many young people are in that town.

Yeah sis :) This place is becoming a bit more relaxed- which is why I’m posting more. But don’t worry sis- you remain the “poster boy” of this forum :))

    Wow

I just went through this thread as I was interested in your comments on Parkes.

I was there on Monday and Tuesday and it was f….n hot! There is a retirement village that is quite new and a few props for sale too. The likely hood of getting $180 – $200 rent for a 2 bedder is ludicrous when you compare to other rents (even centre of town is only $200 for a 3 bed house).

The new airport may or may not go ahead but to appease the EPA, they spent about $5,000 sinking some foundations for the control tower last week.

The biggest problem in Parkes at the moment is the lack of water. They have about 6 months supply left. All the lawns are dead and it is looking quite sad.

I would be interested in what happens on the bus tour though considering it is 5 hours to Parkes from Sydney – what would you have time for? 3 houses in each town!

Just heard from my contact in Parkes that they had about 4 inches of rain in an hour on Wednesday.

There was heaps of flooding cars where in water up to the door handles anywhere around the train lines and sth. There were a few homes in the area that were flooded too. I wonder if they were owned by our friendly bus tour operator?

I understand the stars are related to posts, but do the colours mean anything too?

And golly, you lot must sit on here and do nothing but read and type!

As as far as I know from reading this topic, the tour is going to go to Wagga, Parkes, Wellington, Cowra, Cootumundra (where the … is that), Temora. WHat other places are they going to?
    Just curious. [:)]

Elves – There was an Elvis reunion in Parkes last weekend. Plenty of blue suede shoes, hunks of burnin’ love and the like in Parkes on Friday, Sat and Sun.

So Elvis was not a typo – just letting you know.

Elvis reunion- lucky ducks. Nothing fun happens in sydney [:(]

I wonder if victor ollis saw them as a potential market- a bunch of Elvis impersonators living in a town- now THAT would be funny ;) they’d all walk around singing “in the ghetto” and living in parkes- hehe.

And the rest of the town would be walking around singing “suspicious minds” because there were a million elvis’s living in the town making them paranoid!
