    Hi everyone,
I have a situation where an ex girlfriend has placed a caveat on my property by falsely claiming financial input.
The property is in my name, bought when we were not together and all deposits and payments paid for with my own funds. My new wife (of only 6 weeks) and I are trying to build our property portfolio and I see this as being a real problem. I have a form from DOLA to fill in to try and have it removed but I do not know how or what to put down as the reason for change of registration details to which she has 21 days to respond to by way of supreme court action as I understand.
Not sure if this is an appropriate subject and please say so if not but any idea’s/advice would be much appreciated.

    o2befree..

I suggest you get legal advice asap.

If she does not have a caveatable interest a Solicitor will fix it for you. You will not get the advice you need on any Forum…Legal Issue.

    Call a Solicitor Tomorrow

Speak to a solicitor that knows that area ASAP to protect yourselfeven if you have to pay a bit for it. If she was your girlfriend for more than 6 months then there may be some substance in her claim.

The NSW Law society, and I assume societies in other states, have specialist lawyers who do property law. Ring the local society and get that list fast.

You are sitting on a time bomb that will go off if the action is not swift. Pay the money and get good advice on the matter.

A family member didn’t act in similiar circumstances and it cost him many hundreds of thousands of dollars in the end and a couple of quicq and expensive trips to the Supreme Court along the way.
