    Mini,

You might find the following article of interest:

    http://www.propertytalk.co.nz/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=189&mode=&order=0&thold=0

It talks about the NZMBA mortgage broker of the year award and names the national and regional winners. Mike Pero is listed as a joint winner for the Auckland region.

thanks maria, muppet, recovery, westan and anyone I forgot,
I am gonna go with Stoneman in Wanganui (near both properties, at least has a good feel for the area, and has been my insurance broker so far too.) and had a good chat to the dude there today who says there should be no problem.
However…only 70 percent lend because of the towns I’m buying in (but i knew that!) and not sure if they will go for revolving line of credit because of them being a) rental properties and b) me being offshore.
    Thinks P and I won’t be a problem, though.

    Any comments????

I wouldn’t have thought being rentals and an offshore investor would preclude you from having a LOC. You might be able to get a split loan – part P&I part LOC.

Some of the banks in NZ will pay some of your legal fees as well, I don’t know if this applies in your case, Mini, as you already own the IPs but it’s worth asking the broker about.

hi Rod – yeah that’s what i thought.

I was vibing Ron Stoneman. But when I rang up to speak to Ron, I got my young dude (“Junior”) that’s done my insurance broking.
When I said I wanted to talk to Ron, he said Ron only does the ‘front end’ – talks to people at first – and then passes on to Junior for all the actual mortgage finding for people. I thought that Junior was slightly miffed that I hadn’t asked for him straight off. From then on I wasn’t really vibing Junior *at all*.

    Hmmm.
    cheers-
    Mini
