Hey Guys & Gals
Just wondering if anyone knows of any information services (preferably free of charge) which provide previous sale prices on properties.
I recall at the Property Masters course in June that Stuart O’Neill (Guerrilla Real Estate) said that he uses one whenever he is considering buying a property (ie to check the prices of the neighboring properties)- but for the life of me I can’t remember what it is!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this

Chrisstoph.. how about trying the “auction results” in the newspapers, or even online.
Even the local papers usually have them at the back of the property sections.

regards KevIf you are interested in a certain area then you could go to an open inspection in that area and ask the sales agent for a list of recent sales. They usually give you a 2-3 page document of all the sales in that area for the last year or two. Otherwise I know that you can buy these records from a government department but I am not sure how (perhaps again ask your local real estate agent).

i think this is the one you mean???In Victoria’ I believe you can get a record of all sales going back 20 years or something.
A friend of mine said it is available from the Dept. of Mines..???????

Thanks for the info, looking at properties in WA but finding it difficult to evaluate “good” areas from my office in NSW.

I’m new to the forum… Hopefully I can both get something from coming here, and give something back too.
In NSW, real estate agents have a tool called RPData that they subscribe to. I don’t know how much they pay for it, although I know that my friendly agent (I look after their IT requirements) has been helpful in looking up property sale prices and dates for me. [

Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to get ‘real’ property prices in Vic.
I have been content with getting auction results. But that only covers 70-80% of the market.
Yes i have tried Residex but they seems to be only estimates and not real values..
Anyone have access to Prism or something? [
