Proof that it is possible to get off the forum occasionally! Found this on ABC news site…

“CALL FOR CRACKDOWN ON WEALTH CREATING SCHEMES
The NSW Fair Trading Minister wants the Federal Government to expand the powers of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission after complaints about “get rich” investment schemes.

Reba Meagher says her office has received complaints about Roy McDonald, who conducts wealth creation seminars at his Hunter Valley property, and she wants the Federal Government to look at regulating the area of property advice schemes.

A spokeswoman for the Minister says the Department of Fair Trading has received about 20 complaints in the past 18 months against Mr McDonald, who conducts seminar programs such as Born Rich and Instant Property Wealth.

Mr McDonald runs the programs from his Hunter Valley property and boasts that he can turn $1 into $1 million in seven years and how to get returns in excess of 100 per cent per year, but the Minister’s office says people who have complained say the seminars deliver little value for money.

Mr McDonald is quoted as saying that the small number of clients who did not achieve their goals had not remained committed to his strategies.”

I don’t know whether the above holds any interest for others on the forum. Just thought it might interest…
