Gold stars are for people who have bought something recently from this site.
Red are usuall for people running the site or moderators.
Silver stars are for the rest, second class citizens. They look like a dust colour.
You’ll get three at 100, then four at 500, and I suppose five at 1000.
But if you don’t keep buying things you’ll go silver.

Hi All I don’t think star thing is related to buy anything on the site.
Here is my Guess for STARS..
Newbie = post 1-4 NO Star
One Star = post 10 to 49
Two Golden Stars = post 50 to 109
Three Stars = post 110 to 499 and Silver member
Four Stars = 500+ (Only Terryw is in this category I guess [
] )“Administrator” or “Moderator” depending on other Moderator or Admin (Including Steve) and I think they do depending on your experience(and willingness to help other) in answering forum topic not depends on number of post because one can have 200+ post just by asking questions.
New Moderator is richmond ( post less then 200 )[

The number of stars and the colour of stars does co-ordinate and they are based on number of posts made and have nothing to do with purchasing property or product.
Newbie = post 1-10 NO Star
One BLUE Star = post 10 to 49
Two Golden Stars = post 50 to 110
Three Silver Stars = post 110 to 499
Four VERY GOLD Stars = 500+ (Terry is the only non moderator with 500+)
“Administrator” or “Moderator” are always red no matter how many posts and they are determined by Steve, Dave and Brentasorous.
Hope this clarifies the issue. I would like Brent to advise if this is incorrect.

As you’ve probably worked out by now, thread titles go from blue to purple once you have accessed that thread.The only name in purple should be your own.

That was the other thing I ment to write, when you click on someones name to see there profile that name turns purple to indicate to you that you have accessed that link, it works in the same manner as the threads.

I think we got the humour, but it opened up an interesting thread on how the star allocation system works.
Whilst not being of earth shattering importance, it was probably helpful for the readers of the thread.
