Where can l find information on the net about towns and their populations?

Looks to be a German site but in English and pop stats for Oceania including all cities over 20000 inhabitants by state in Australia. Census figures included from 2001 by the looks. Good luck and thanks.

Hi,
Also look under http://www.realestate.com.au under home price guide – postcode snapshops section. Gives you heaps of data about the area, can’t vouch for how up to date it is.

Try this one too. It comes more from a tourism angle but has useful information, including industry info and how many retaurants etc.

Go to the link ‘Australian A-Z’ and search towns and cities alphabetically.
Hope this helps or else you can call the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Their web site is http://www.abs.gov.au though I think you have to pay to get info.

Try this one for Victoria Only. Stats are from 2001 but still helpful. Gives other info like distance from other towns.
