    Hi All

I liked the mood of the “lighter side” post the other day, and it got me thinking about starting up a funny investor story thread !

    So here goes :

This one just made my day. My thoughts/comments are in ()

It all starts as Bruce reads the paper and phones an agent……..

Bruce : Hello, I saw you had advertised a business for sale
Agent : Yes we have a number
Bruce : One in Sat paper ??
    Agent : Oh yes, “plant

“, (this is a business supplying & maintaining plants in offices)
Bruce : What were the figures on that
Agent : Gross profit $110k, makes a net profit of about $42k
Bruce : Sounds Good (agents website proclaims “net profit of almost 50%!”), How much is owner payed ?
Agent : The $42k are his wages
Bruce : How many hours a week does he work
Agent : about 30 hours, he has a couple of casual folks as well doing about 8 hrs/wk. They’re wages were included in calculation
Bruce : Why does he want to sell ?
Agent : he wants to retire
Bruce : Oh…. how much is the price ?
Agent : $87k plus stock at valuation, about another $45k
Bruce : Really ? So you are telling me that for (87 plus 45 = ) $132k I can buy a job that pays me $42k ? !! (PAYG Heaven)
    Agent : Yes
Bruce : Good luck selling the business !
Agent : (frustrated voice) but the $87k includes a lot of good will
    Bruce : mmmm ?
Agent : and you get the vehicle included !
Bruce : Well, send me some figures, but I don’t think that we are interested (No bl**dy Way !!!)
