Today’s Steveism is also my prayer for you this year:
That at the heart of your fruit, you’ll find the fruit of your heart.
Traditionally at this time of year, we reflect on the past, and make plans for the future.
As you do, I hope that you’ll be encouraged to make 2018 one of the highlight years of your life – a year in which you live life to the max more than any other year that’s gone before.
That might sound ambitious, but why not aim for something great? You weren’t made to be average. You were made to be awesome!
Which brings me back to today’s Steveism: that what you do on the outside (i.e. the fruit of your efforts) would reflect what’s important to you on the inside (i.e. the fruit of your heart). The alternative is to live an incongruous life where your output (work efforts) conflicts with your input (personal values). Such a life will lead to stress, frustration and ultimately disease caused by dis-ease.
So take a moment to think about how you can make 2018 your best year ever. Start by watching this short video:
What’s something important you want to achieve in the year ahead? Please contribute to the conversation by leaving a thought, comment or suggestion below.
Until next time, remember that success comes from doing things differently.

This year I’ll be taking more action and less spectating. It’s very easy to sit back and watch life pass you by, not so easy to put in the work and turn actions into results! My 2018 goal is to expand my investing education and gain a thorough understanding of market cycles and what do look for in growth areas.
Great! More BEING for me. As I work on my business, the best way I can improve it is by being and constantly striving to be a better version of me. I do the actions, an action taker, however, I may need a little more time to reflect and ensure actions and lifestyle become ever more congruent with my ideal future. It’s an exciting year ahead.
If I may add, one of the highlights of 2017 was definitely the conference in Sydney with Steve and PropertyInvesting.com!
Hi Steve, thanks.
Working harder and happier…? Not two things that we usually equate with each other, but I would consider these to be a forceful combination. Thanks for this and your other Steve-isms.
Hi Steve, I quite like that one, shows how in some cases you need to sort of realise that you have a problem or negative that with an appropriate, solid goal and action plan can become a positive, I also like your aeroplane analogy, yes exactly money buys business class instead of economy, I also believe it can buy happiness just not love, perhaps that’s what the idiom/saying should be, “money can’t buy love” I believe money creates freedom and therefore happiness, freedom created by hard work and good decisions to make sure you have it better than most will and for longer, that’s my motivation for my goals anyway.
I am at the other end of the scale. I have at least 65% equity on each property. I have 5 properties. 2 on the gold coast, one on the central coast with granny flat & 2 in Sydney. One is my ppor with granny flat & the other a sepp5 over 55’s for when I’m too old to live in a largish home. My super is in my properties. Financial advisers r saying sell, sell, sell & put money into super. My plans were different where I only sell as I have to. Difficulty is I have very little in super & 6 months to retirement. I am awfully confused as to what to do. Super rules r changing all the time so I thought property would be better where I can increase rents if I have to but I’m cash poor & asset rich. Such a dilemma. I can’t afford to make the wrong financial decisions at my age
Thanks Steve, an idea to act on today. I appreciate you making the effort to simplify it. Often I find that actionable things that can be done quickly (that I know I need) are best to get wins I want, this advice is no different.
Thanks for the insightful training, Steve! On 1 January I quit my job because it was so soul crushing not being able to help people the way I have always wanted to. I have started my own online business with the help of Derek Gehl and his team. My wife and I are looking forward to conference in Melbourne and the inspiration and motivation that is sure to follow. This year is going to be EPIC!
