    Hi guys…

    Interesting article here…

By the way I’ve finally posted a complaint to the Press Council regarding the SMH article with my name in it which was published on the 24/12/04.

I’ll tell you more about that later.

    Regards

    My favourite comment is:
“When I found out that McKnight (and other wrappers) were buying from agents who were clients of mine, I told the agents to make the sellers aware if the agents knew (which often they didn’t of course, because the very nature of the wrappers is not to disclose their intention).:
Apart from the fact that it’s none of the vendor’s business what I plan to do with the property once I buy it, this is another classic “catch all” statement from Jenman. Very early on I bought a number of properties from a Jenman agent (they’ve since removed themselves from his network), and that agent was always totally aware of what I do. He certainly told a number of vendors what I planned to do, and they thought it was great that I was giving someone an opportunity to own their own home.
I’ve only ever had one vendor get stroppy about what I do, and when I pointed out to him that if he’d been willing to let me pay the house off for 25 years rather than at settlement, I’d have been willing to pay more for the house too, he actually apologised and said he hadn’t thought of it that way.
I get a little bit tired of being told what my “nature” must be because I wrap houses.

    Keep smiling
    Felicity 8-)

    Hi,

What about telling people that people that someone sold a house who’s name is not even on the contract?

    http://www.jenman.com.au/NewsNews1.php?id=314

The point is, didn’t buy it, didn’t sell it, didn’t advertise it. So if not defamation, what is it? And this is my real name :)

Or forget to mention a stack of other relevant details.

At this stage my complaint is with the Sydney Morning Herald on a (very) similar article and that is currently with the Press Council.

Once that is sorted I’ll see where to go from there.

    Regards
    Michael

What difference would it make if they had the motgage with a bank? Wouldn’t the bank sell the house?

    Hi,

I understand – actually never can happen in a flash – what most media don’t understand is that the credit code offers a lot of options to consumers along with protection.

Which is why even default means the consumer has 30 days to recover it.

Alternatively they can request hardship allowance if in serious trouble (in this case they were on a different payment plan – one they wrote themselves)

And being a wrapper – you have the flexibility to help people whereas mainstream have to stick to policies, which is why in this case there was an effort to fix the loan arrears rather than collect fees first (name one mainstream that would do that!)

So under our laws it would be nigh impossible to “kick someone out” immediately.

    Regards
    Michael

Torachan, I don’t go around to the media public defaming and slandering people…. That is done by <edited> Neil Jenman….

I suggest you do some research first….. Jenman makes noise about things he doesn’t even have the facts on…..

    1. Michael Gruber’s Wrap to a family in Sydney, WHEN IT WAS NOT EVEN MICHAEL….. Gee, now THAT’S FAIR ?? no slander there now is there ?

    2. Commenting on meetings of Associations, when he wasn’t even there, despite making it seem as if he was ??

    3. When people try to do good for an industry, it gets rubbished, despite HE HIMSELF DOING EXACTLY THE SAME THING…… Now HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT ???????

3a. <edited> Why isn’t Mr. Jenman getting involved to seek proper consumer protection for people ? WE ARE ACTIVELY DOING that…. We don’t sit around MAKING UP STORIES, and bitching to the press….. It’s Michael G. the VFA, us, who are out there, trying to get better protection for wrappees…… Why doesn’t Jenman, put his money where his mouth is ?? and sit down and work with the VFA to draft up some regulations, which can be taken to the Fair trading depts. ???? Hmmmm ???

Torachan, I do not hide behind an Avatar… you seem to !! But I have been on here for several years now….. Most long term members, know who I am, where I live, and the name of my business…

I don’t hide behind blantantly FALSE media releases……. or showboat for the cameras….

Once you know about the issue, then, maybe you can comment… till then… I suggest you go and do your research on this particular issue…. It’s WELL DOCUMENTED on the Somersoft forums……

    Scott
